1. Overview
This Warranty Policy sets out the terms of the manufacturer warranty provided by Bower Motorsport for the OmniCAN hardware gateway. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If your product has a major or minor failure, you may be entitled to remedies under the ACL regardless of the warranty terms below. See our Refunds & Returns Policy for details.
2. Warranty Duration
The OmniCAN hardware gateway is covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery.

| Transferability | This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable |
3. What Is Covered

- ■Hardware component failure not caused by external factors
- ■Manufacturing defects in the gateway unit, PCB, or connectors
- ■Faulty or degraded components that fail within the warranty period under normal operating conditions
- ■Malfunction of the CAN bus interface or Bluetooth Low Energy module due to a manufacturing defect

- ■Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence (e.g., water ingress, physical impact, incorrect voltage)
- ■Damage caused by unauthorised modification or alteration of the hardware
- ■Damage caused by incorrect installation or installation in an incompatible vehicle
- ■Damage caused by use of the product outside its intended purpose (e.g., connecting to non-Haltech ECUs or non-standard CAN bus configurations)
- ■Normal wear and tear (e.g., connector wear from repeated plugging/unplugging)
- ■Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality
- ■Software issues (the OmniCAN app is a free download and is not covered by this hardware warranty)
- ■Damage resulting from power surges, lightning, or electrical faults in the vehicle
- ■Products with tampered, removed, or illegible serial numbers
5. Installation Responsibility & Safety
Installer Responsibility
No responsibility whatsoever is accepted by Bower Motorsport for the fitment of OmniCAN products. The onus is clearly on the installer to ensure that both their knowledge and the parts selected are correct for that particular application. Any damage to parts, consequential damage, or costs resulting from the incorrect installation of OmniCAN products are entirely the responsibility of the installer.
CAN Bus Termination
The OmniCAN gateway interfaces with your vehicle's CAN bus network. It is the installer's responsibility to ensure that the correct CAN bus termination resistors (typically 120Ω) are present at both ends of the CAN bus network. Incorrect termination — whether missing, duplicated, or of the wrong value — can cause communication errors, data corruption, or damage to connected devices including the ECU and the OmniCAN gateway itself. Bower Motorsport is not liable for any damage resulting from incorrect CAN bus termination.
Electrical Safety
When installing the OmniCAN gateway, always follow these safety procedures:
- ■Always disconnect the battery when doing electrical work on your vehicle
- ■Avoid sparks, open flames, or use of electrical devices near flammable substances
- ■Do not run the engine with a battery charger connected as this could damage the ECU and other electrical equipment
- ■Do not overcharge the battery or reverse the polarity of the battery or any charging unit
- ■Disconnect the Haltech ECU from the electrical system whenever doing any welding on the vehicle by unplugging the wiring harness connector from the ECU
- ■After completing the installation, make sure there is no wiring left uninsulated. Uninsulated wiring can cause sparks, short circuits, and in some cases fire
- ■Before attempting to run the engine, ensure there are no leaks in the fuel system
- ■All fuel system components and wiring should be mounted away from heat sources, shielded if necessary, and well ventilated
- ■Always ensure that you follow workshop safety procedures. If you are working underneath a jacked-up car, always use safety stands
6. Off-Road / Motorsport Use Only
The OmniCAN hardware gateway and associated software are designed and intended for motorsport and off-road use only and must not be used on public roads or highways.
Using OmniCAN products for road use on public roads or highways may be prohibited by law unless a specific regulatory exemption exists. It is the responsibility of the installer and/or user of this product to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Please check with your local vehicle authority before purchasing, using, or installing any OmniCAN product.
Bower Motorsport accepts no liability for:
- ■Fines, penalties, or legal action resulting from the use of OmniCAN products on public roads
- ■Failure to obtain required permits, inspections, or exemptions for road use
- ■Damage or injury resulting from the use of OmniCAN-equipped vehicles on public roads
- ■Any consequences arising from non-compliance with vehicle modification or emissions regulations
7. Warranty Remedies
If a valid warranty claim is confirmed, we will, at our discretion:
- ■Repair the defective product, or
- ■Replace the product with the same or equivalent model if repair is not feasible
We will attempt repair first where possible. If repair cannot be completed within a reasonable time or is not cost-effective, we will provide a replacement unit.
Warranty remedies do not include a refund unless the failure constitutes a major failure under the ACL, in which case you are entitled to choose a refund, replacement, or compensation. See our Refunds & Returns Policy.
8. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Step 1: Contact Us
Email bowermotorsport@gmail.com with:
- ■Your order number
- ■Proof of purchase (original receipt, tax invoice, or order confirmation)
- ■A description of the fault and, where possible, photos or videos demonstrating the issue
Step 2: Assessment
We will acknowledge your claim within 3 business days. We may request additional diagnostic information or ask you to return the product for inspection.
Step 3: Return & Resolution
If a return is required, we will provide return shipping instructions and a prepaid return shipping label. Upon inspection, we will repair or replace the unit and return it to you at our expense.
Do not return any product without first contacting us. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
9. Warranty Does Not Limit Your ACL Rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
If your product develops a fault within or beyond the 12-month warranty period, your ACL consumer guarantee rights still apply based on what a reasonable consumer would expect for a product of this type and price. The ACL does not impose a fixed time limit on consumer guarantee rights — durability is assessed by what is reasonable for the product.
